Want something really quick, filling and indestructible for dinner?
This unique pasta dish is just for you! No cooking school or professional equipment is needed - just a big pan, a little patience and 20 minutes.
đ Ingredients (for 2 servings):
-
200 g penne or any dry pasta
-
1 medium onion
-
2 cloves garlic
-
1 tablespoon olive oil
-
400 g canned peeled tomatoes (or passata)
-
1 teaspoon dried basil
-
1 teaspoon oregano
-
Salt, pepper to taste
-
5 dl water or vegetable stock
-
1 handful grated cheese (optional, but recommended)
đȘ Preparation step by step:
-
Preparation:
Peel and chop the onion and garlic. -
Steaming:
Heat the oil in a deep pan or saucepan. Add the onion and fry for 2-3 minutes, then add the garlic. -
Pasta + sauce together:
Pour over the tomatoes, season to taste, then add the dry pasta and water/stock. Mix well! -
Cooking:
Cover and cook over medium heat for about 12-15 minutes, until the pasta is tender and the sauce thickens. Stir occasionally to prevent burning. -
Serving:
Sprinkle with cheese and you're ready to eat! Some fresh basil or arugula is great on top.đĄ Tip for beginners:
-
Don't be alarmed if it looks too thin when cooking - the pasta will absorb the liquid nicely!
-
It's best if you don't have to cook the pasta separately - everything is made together = fewer dishes, faster dinner.
đ Variations:
-
Creamy version: Add a tablespoon of mascarpone or cream at the end.
-
With protein: Throw in cooked chicken breast, tuna or chickpeas.
-
Vegetable version: You can add courgettes, spinach, peppers or mushrooms.
