🛒 Ingredients (for 2-3 servings):

  • 1 mug (approx. 200 ml) of plain white rice (e.g. long grain)

  • 2 cups of water

  • 1 pinch of salt

  • 1 tablespoon oil or butter (optional)

👩‍🍳 Step by step - How not to mess it up:

    1. Washing through:
The rice wash in cold water 2-3 times, while the water will be roughly clear. This removes the starch and will not be sticky the rice.

    2. Exact proportions:
One portion for rice two parts water must. This is the key. If you brew 1 cup, pour 2 cups of water over it.

    3. Boiling:
Put the rice in a small saucepan with the water, salt and a little oil/butter if you like.
Bring to the boil, then immediately withdraw small flame.

    4. Covering and cooking:
Cover with a lid and do not stir while cooking!
On a low flame cook for exactly 15 minutes, then close the fire under it.

    5. Rest:
Leave it covered for now 10 minutesbefore you open it up - this way the rice will "swell" nicely and become bubbly.
